Kwankwaso Urges Nigerians to Use Their Votes Against Danger
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and ex-Minister of Defence, has advised Nigerians to use their votes for change rather than resorting to protests. Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election, highlighted that poor governance has led to widespread anger, hunger, insecurity, and hopelessness among the people.
He urged Nigerians to prioritize the country’s needs, be patient with the government, and offer support to help it succeed. Kwankwaso emphasized that if the government fails to provide good leadership, citizens have the power to vote in new leaders who can bring about the necessary changes.
In his statement on Twitter, Kwankwaso expressed sadness over how poor governance has pushed many, especially the youth, into despair. He pointed to various issues like federal interference in local matters, political crises, and other avoidable conflicts as examples of how mismanagement has caused unnecessary problems.
Kwankwaso acknowledged the public’s frustration with bad governance and the temptation to protest. However, he urged people to consider the negative consequences of protests, which can sometimes lead to violence, loss of life, and further division. Instead, he encouraged focusing on voting as a more effective and peaceful way to achieve change.
