Real Madrid Welcomes Kylian Mbappe as Their New Number 9
Kylian Mbappe has officially joined Real Madrid and was introduced at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid.
After his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended, the 25-year-old moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Mbappe was presented with the number 9 jersey, a number previously worn by club legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Ronaldo, Javier Saviola, and Roberto Soldado.
During Euro 2024, Mbappe scored one goal from a penalty against Poland and had to wear a mask due to a broken nose.
He described his performance in the tournament as a “failure.”
“In football, you’re either good or not. I wasn’t good. My Euro was a failure,” he said.
“I wanted to be the European champion. Now, I will go on holiday, rest well, which will be very beneficial for me, and then prepare to start a new chapter in my life. There’s a lot to do.”
