Governor Uzodimma Commends APC’s Performance in Nigeria

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, who also chairs the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), stated that despite economic challenges, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has performed well for Nigerians.

He made these remarks on Monday in Abuja while speaking to journalists at the party’s National Secretariat, where he led some forum members on a visit to the party’s leadership.

The PGF is a group that includes all current governors elected on the APC platform. Uzodimma spoke after a closed-door meeting with the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

He mentioned that the purpose of the meeting was to stay connected with the party’s leadership as its governors.

Uzodimma also said the meeting was an opportunity to show loyalty to the party’s leadership and to express condolences to Ganduje, who recently lost his mother-in-law. The governor underscored the importance of this visit, especially since the governors were in Abuja.

He noted that politically, it is clear that the APC has done very well in Nigeria. He attributed the current economic issues to global challenges, explaining that it is not solely a national problem.

Uzodimma defended the APC’s performance, stressing that these issues are part of a larger global economic problem.

The governor praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for implementing policies to tackle the country’s economic challenges.

He expressed confidence that Nigerians would soon appreciate how Tinubu has managed the situation, given the circumstances he inherited when he took office.

Uzodimma explained that the meeting also aimed to show solidarity with the party’s national chairman and other leaders who manage the party’s daily operations and policies.

He highlighted the commitment of the governors to follow and support the party’s leadership.

He emphasized that as critical stakeholders, the governors are dedicated to encouraging and backing the party’s leadership. This support is a way to show their commitment and solidarity with those leading the party.

Looking ahead to the Edo governorship election on September 21, Uzodimma expressed optimism about the APC’s victory.

He cited the party’s majority control in 20 out of 36 states and its significant representation in the federal government as reasons for this confidence.

Ganduje, in his remarks, expressed satisfaction with the governors’ visit, describing it as a significant blessing for the party.

He assured that the party’s leadership values the governors’ support and would continue to protect their interests, maintaining a strong relationship with them.
