Fake News Nearly Led Me Down to a Dangerous Path – Eniola Ajao

Eniola Ajao, Nollywood actress, recently spoke about a distressing experience she had due to fake news about her. In an interview with The Tribune Newspaper, she mentioned that the false information led her to contemplate harming herself.

This situation deeply affected her to the extent that she decided to go without food for seven days, alarming her family members, including her sister and son. They became worried about her health and safety during this time.

Although she didn’t disclose the exact nature of the fake news that triggered this extreme response, her story highlights the negative impact that misinformation can have on individuals’ mental and emotional well-being.

“I almost poisoned myself because there was something about me that was put online. The news about me was far from being true. I didn’t eat for like seven days, and people that were around me can testify to this. I couldn’t go anywhere. This was around the same time when I was planning my movie. My sister, my son, everyone was calling me because the story came from nowhere and I felt terrible.”
