Mbappe’s Return to France Training Sparks Hope Despite Nose Injury
Kylian Mbappe resumed training with the French national team on Wednesday, just days after breaking his nose in their Euro 2024 opener against Austria.
The 25-year-old striker was spotted wearing a protective bandage during practice.
He started training alone, and it’s still unclear if he’ll play in France’s next match against the Netherlands in Leipzig on Friday.
The French Football Federation (FFF) said they would provide an update on Mbappe’s condition later on Wednesday.
Mbappe got injured when he collided with Austrian defender Kevin Danso’s shoulder during an aerial challenge.
After the incident, he was substituted and the break was confirmed at a hospital in Dusseldorf before he rejoined his teammates at the training camp.
To help him recover, the FFF mentioned that a protective mask would be made for Mbappe.
Mbappe received a yellow card during the Austria match for returning to the pitch and sitting down, which temporarily stopped the game.
Kevin Danso, also 25, apologized and wished Mbappe a “good recovery” on social media platform X after the game.
