Governor Adeleke Delivers on Promise: N12.7 Billion Paid to Osun Retirees in 18 months

Osun state’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid a total of N12.7 billion in bonds to retirees in just 18 months since he took office. This amount surpasses the N11 billion paid over 12 years by the previous party in power, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke announced this while presenting a N4 billion bond certificate to retirees at the Local Government Service Commission hall in Abere on Friday, June 7.

He mentioned, “Since December 2022, my administration has released a total of N12,719,245,528.00 in bonds across the State and local governments. Today, I am presenting N4,009,358,431.00 of that amount.” He also noted that his administration has exceeded the entire pension payment records of the APC’s 12-year government tenure.

Adeleke further explained that during the previous 12 years, the two administrations before his had paid N11,155,651,780.56 for gratuities at the State level and N6,488,876,324.58 at the local level. He credited his method of approving the Head of Service’s recommendations for increasing monthly releases for gratuities and bonds.

The Head of Service, Samuel Aina, praised Adeleke’s administration for its dedication to workers and retirees.
