Cubana Chief Priest shares why he changed his business location from the South-East to Lagos.
Pascal Okechukwu, a well-known businessman and socialite also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has shared why he decided to move his business from the South-East region to Lagos.
In an interview with BBC Igbo, Okechukwu revealed that the main reason for the relocation was the growing insecurity in the South-East. He felt that the safety of his business and personal well-being were at risk due to the unstable situation there.
Okechukwu explained that the crime rates in the South-East were becoming too high for him to continue operating his business comfortably. He pointed out that this was a significant factor influencing his decision to leave the area.
Additionally, he noted that some of the criminals were being supported by local residents, which made the environment even more dangerous. This local involvement in crime further pushed him to move his business to a safer location in Lagos.
He said: “There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.
“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”
