Ayra Starr shares her experience of finishing university at 18 and starting her music career

Rising star Ayra Starr recently shared her journey to fame and her entry into the music world. She started her music career at the age of 18, right after finishing her university studies.

This revelation came during an interview with the well-known streaming platform, Spotify.

In the interview, Ayra Starr explained that she had always known from a young age that she was destined to be famous.

Her passion for music was evident early on, but she had to wait until she completed her education to pursue it seriously.

Ayra also mentioned that her mother played a significant role in this delay. Her mother wanted her to focus on her studies and only allowed her to enter the music studio after graduation.

This first studio experience at 18 marked the official beginning of her music career.

After the breakthrough of her first album, Ayra’s life changed dramatically. She highlighted the different phases she went through after gaining fame, including earning a Grammy nomination.

This success has solidified her place in the music industry and marked the beginning of a promising career.

She said:

“The year I turned 10, I knew I was going to be a superstar but I didn’t know how. The year I turned 16, I just wanted sing in my room; 18 was when I entered the studio for the first time, and I had just graduated from the university. I remember my mom said that the only time you can do music is when you can do music.

“I released my first album in 19, ’19 and Dangerous’ and it took the world by storm. At 20, I released Rush and it was my biggest song. The year I turned 21, I got nominated for Grammy; that was the beginning of living my life as the global African superstar.”
