Federal High Court in Port Harcourt to Hear Motions Seeking Removal of Speaker Martins Amaewhule and Other Assembly Members on June 28
The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has scheduled a hearing for June 28 to address several motions seeking the removal of Speaker Martins Amaewhule and 24 other members of the House of Assembly. These members, loyalists of the former governor and current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister Nyesom Wike, are involved in a case following their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Despite Speaker Amaewhule’s petition to Chief Judge John Tsoho requesting the case be transferred to another court, the presiding judge, Justice Steven Dalyop Pam, has chosen to proceed with the hearing.
